In the mid 90s I owned a Pearl free floating brass piccolo snare. It was the loudest snare drum I had ever heard. It had some weight behind the sound. I have got many snare drums. Mostly 14x6.5 Ludwig and British Drum Company. Neither company are currently producing a decent brass piccolo snare
