Half-boned stays based on illustrations in Denis Diderot
Half-boned stays based on illustrations in Denis Diderot's Encyclopédie, dating to about 1760-1770. However, the silhouette is also suitable for use with clothing covering the period of 1760-1790. Basic stays come with shoulder straps and back spiral lacing (metal eyelets), made in your choice of black or white cotton coutil fabric and are bound in cotton tape. The boning I use is German synthetic whaleboning.Additional front lacing is also available. Optional extras: Handstitched eyelets (£2.50 per eyelet) A fitting mockup to be send to you to try on (£95) Decorative fabric choices, additional zipper closure and alternative boning options are available on request, as well as fully boned stays! Please contact me to discuss your requirements. This item will be custom made to your measurements, please allow 6-10 weeks for completion and submit measurements via email.
